This Terms of Service ("TOS" or "Terms") governs your access to and use of the Steam version of our game "Encounter: The Lost Cards," including any demo and full versions, and any related online services (collectively, the "Service"). This document is a legal agreement between you and Encounter GG ("we," "our," or "us").
This TOS supplements our End User License Agreement (EULA) and Privacy Policy. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by all three documents, as well as the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
a. Steam Account Required: You must have an active Steam account to use our Service. Your use of Steam is subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement ("SSA").
b. Binding Agreement: These Terms, our EULA, and Privacy Policy form a binding legal contract between you and Encounter GG. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
The Service features a multi-tiered virtual economy consisting of "Licensed Digital Content," including soft virtual currencies (Scrolls, Sage, Knowledge, Wisdom) and Virtual Goods (Rare Gear, Ace Cards, Steam Token Vouchers).
a. Limited License, Not Ownership: All Virtual Goods and currencies are legally defined as "Licensed Digital Content." We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use them within the Service for personal entertainment; you do not own them as personal property.

c. Steam Community Market: Specific Virtual Goods, limited to "Ace Cards" and "Steam Token Vouchers," may be tradable on the Steam Community Marketplace. These transactions are subject to Valve's policies. We are not a party to these transactions and make no representations regarding the value of any item.
d. Gift Mechanics: "Wisdom" can be used to open "Gifts," which yield randomized Licensed Digital Content. Once all Rare Gear is unlocked, rewards at that tier will fall back to Sage to maintain economy balance.
e. No Real-Money Value: All virtual currencies and Virtual Goods are licensed solely for use within the Service. They have no cash value, are not redeemable for real currency, and may not be transferred for value outside of specific platform-permitted transactions (e.g., the Steam Community Market). Encounter GG makes no representations regarding the monetary value of any item on third-party markets.
f. Steam Token Vouchers: When a Steam Token Voucher is spent in-game, it is consumed and the associated transaction completes simultaneously. There is no intermediate redeemable state; once a Voucher is used to initiate a transaction, it is non-refundable.
As a Steam user who owns Encounter: The Lost Cards, Offline Mode is available to you. To maintain the integrity of the virtual economy, the following rules apply:
You agree not to: a. Use bots, hacks, or third-party software to automate gameplay or manipulate currency acquisition. b. Attempt to "clone" accounts or bypass the server's "Source of Truth" regarding your progress. c. Engage in fraudulent activity on the Steam Community Market. d. Attempt to disrupt or overburden our servers.
e. Enforcement: Encounter GG reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to: (i) temporarily suspend your access to the Service; (ii) permanently terminate your account and license; (iii) forfeit and void any or all Licensed Digital Content associated with your account; and (iv) report the violation to Valve Corporation, Apple Inc., Google LLC, or relevant law enforcement authorities, as applicable.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS. ENCOUNTER GG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING THE LOSS OF DATA OR VIRTUAL GOODS, ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

Upon termination of your license under this Agreement—whether initiated by you or by Encounter GG following a violation of these Terms—all Licensed Digital Content (including virtual currencies and Virtual Goods) associated with your account will be permanently forfeited without compensation. Virtual currencies and Virtual Goods are not personal property and carry no guaranteed value upon termination. Eligibility for any refund of real-money Steam purchases is governed exclusively by Valve's refund policies; Encounter GG has no independent refund obligation to you.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where practicable, via in-game notifications or through the Steam platform. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
The original version of this Agreement is in English. Any translations are provided for convenience only. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the English version and a translation, the English version shall govern and control.
